2020 Vision

– 6 March 2015

Planning Permission has been granted to York House School, Rickmansworth, for a masterplan development that will provide over 2,000sqm of new buildings. The school is located on a 47-acre Green Belt site, with Redheath, a Grade II* Listed Building at it’s heart. The scheme has been approved under delegated authority following a lengthy consultation process with Three Rivers District Council.

The development will rationalise the layout of the School, replacing several worn-out post-War buildings and provide much needed new facilities to meet the school’s long-term “2020 Vision”. The new buildings are designed to tie together the varied architectural styles of the existing buildings and compliment the Grade II* Listed Building, which will remain the dominant feature of the site.

The development is to be constructed in three phases over five years to enable the school to remain in occupation. The scheme will provide a dining hall, music room, library and classrooms, and creates outside spaces, such as an enclosed dining court, an amphitheatre and teaching gardens.
